317L (UNS S31703, 1.4438, SUS317L) is low-carbon molybdenum-containing stainless steel, with higher Mo content than 316L, better chloride corrosion resistance.

Excellent chloride/pitting corrosion resistance; good post-weld corrosion resistance (no annealing); suitable for harsh chloride environments; more expensive than 316L.
