ASTM A270 is the standard specification for seamless and welded austenitic stainless steel sanitary piping.

Typically manufactured from round billets using push-pull technology, it offers greater corrosion resistance than standard 304 stainless steel piping, making it suitable for use in the dairy and food industries. It also features a special surface treatment. TP304 refers to a specific grade of stainless steel, Type 304, a commonly used stainless steel alloy. TP304 is available in a variety of surface finishes, including 180 mesh (up to Ra 32) and 320 mesh (up to Ra 20). These surface treatments ensure a smooth pipe surface that is easy to clean and maintain, reducing the risk of bacterial growth and contamination.
