What is ASTM A249 standard?
ASTM A249 specification covers nominal-wall-thickness welded tubes and heavily cold worked welded tubes made from the austenitic steels. More specifically, the ASTM A249 specification is intended for uses such as boiler,superheater,heat exchanger,condenser tubes.

 

ASTM A249 TP321 stainless steel welded pipes (bright annealed boiler tubes) supplied by GNEE contain elements such as 17–19% chromium, 9–12% nickel, 2–3% silicon, a minimum of 0.04% phosphorus, 0.30% manganese, and 0.075% niobium. These pipes exhibit excellent corrosion resistance, heat resistance, high and low-temperature strength, as well as outstanding weldability.

 

The ASTM A249 TP321 stainless steel heat exchanger tubes offer good workability, suitable for stamping and cold working, and demonstrate superior weldability. Additionally, TP321 heat exchanger tubes possess relatively strong oxidation resistance, enabling them to withstand atmospheric corrosion in air and water vapor corrosion in humid environments. They also provide excellent resistance to heat and humidity aging, making them suitable for demanding applications such as automotive components, parts, and heat exchangers.
